The British Silver Spiral interconnect cable is a reference-grade cable optimized for use with a wide range of devices. Its coaxial design is engineered for low capacitance, and it features two 0.21mm² silver-plated conductors made from oxygen-free copper with a purity of 99.999% and a low resistance of 0.033 ohms, delivering a clean, powerful signal with excellent stereophonic quality. The conductors are insulated with high-density aluminum foil and shielded by a gold-plated, high-quality RCA connector that is soldered to the ground. The dielectric material consists of polyethylene foam, and the semi-transparent outer jacket is made from polyester resin, commonly known as Mylar.
Sound
The flagship interconnect from QED delivers a clear, neutral tonal balance with a slight emphasis on the upper frequencies. The silver-plated conductor can easily brighten a poorly matched system. Percussion instruments are distinctly highlighted and resonate more strongly compared to other cables.
The bass is fast and assertive, with superb timing and a variety of tonal colors, halting precisely at the right moment. Vocals have a clear texture, vividly presenting the magic of the artist’s vocal cords. Wooden instruments such as violins and double basses exhibit a noble quality, with their timbre rendered with high precision, capturing the nuances of finger touches on strings and the type of wood used. The piano sounds tangible, conveying the force with which the keys are pressed, while the snare drum maintains a tight, rich rhythm with numerous nuances. Each musician has their place on the stage, allowing for the appreciation of many subtle details.
