Sennheiser - Momentum On-Ear 1.0
The Momentum are neat, good-quality headphones from the German manufacturer Sennheiser. The converters have an impedance of 18 ohms, which makes them easy to drive by virtually any player. They have been designed for users who value good-quality sound at an affordable price. A frequency response of 16 - 22,000 Hz carries the headphones dynamically with loads of musical information.
Beautifully made, available in several colors, they look elegant, and the good quality elements used in this model, i.e. metal zippers and a headband covered with suede, give the "Momentum" a class rarely found in this price range . A detachable mini-jack cable with a plug lock and a 3 button remote control is a good step to prevent damage to the cord that would kill many headphones. The spongy overlays are made of a soft material called Alacantra, with a velor-like appearance. They add elegance to the headphones, and above all, incredible comfort in keeping the headphones on your ears for many hours.
Sound
The bass is strong, but not overpowered, keeping a good pace in songs where you can hear a hard kick from the kick drum. There is a good definition of the low frequencies that harmoniously harmonize with the rest of the frequency range. There is maybe not as much kick as the Beats or JBLs bring, but there is also no question of reducing the low frequencies. The drum snare with the rhythm is clearly audible and accentuated. The mid frequencies are sweetish in color, the vocals are nice with a hint of honey giving them a noble touch. The treble is probably the weakest link, although it is quite detailed, it does not reflect the bandwidth and overall outline of the competition's headphones.
Conclusion
Comfortable, very well-made headphones for everyday use. Functionality and elegance aimed rather at the average recipient who expects a good, not tiring sound that can be listened to for many hours.
